HMP Coldingley - Surrey

The 128 place A8 (RBRU) recently completed at HMP Coldingley is an excellent example of how the construction methods employed within the NOMS Strategic Alliance can overcome the challenges and constraints of undertaking a large expansion project within an operational prison.

The development includes a new 128 place A8, multi-function, reception, farms and gardens bulding, extension of gym, kitchen and segregation block and the refurbishment of the visits, administration and healthcare facilities. Modular construction techniques were used to build the A8, minimising the amount of time needed on site. Other techniques, such as the use of panelised systems, were employed to speed the construction process even further.
