HMP Preston Visits - Lancashire

The visits building has been purpose built close to the existing visits building, now awaiting destruction, replacing the secure perimeter in part and creating a new pedestrian entry for visitors. The 2 storey building provides 50 open visits tables, 12 legal visits rooms, 8 closed visits booths and associated ancillary facilities such as staff offices, staff tea room, visitor waiting areas and a reception. The large open visits area, being the first in the country, provides a modular solution to a 5m high ceiling level. Special care regarding security enhancement has been untertaken which shows Caledonian’s full understanding of specialist building requirements.
