HM Prison - Whatton
HMP Whatton is the latest in a long series of projects undertaken by Caledonian for HM Prison Service. Caledonian's involvement began at an early stage and as part of the NOMS Strategic Alliance Process we led the design team, developed concept and detail project design and subsequently managed the construction through to conclusion. The Project was completed 3 months ahead of schedule.
The development includes all facilities necessary for an independent prison, including cell accommodation (420 places), workshop, kitchen, education, gatehouse, visits, sports centre and staff facilities. This project clearly demonstrates Caledonian's capabilities in design, major construction and overall project management. A range of "Safer Cell" fit outs are also included.
