Express Holiday Inn

The six storey Holiday Inn Express, Bridge of Don, was constructed under the Intercontinental Hotels Group franchise and contains 135 bedrooms and a “Great Room” containing bar, restaurant and reception space. Caledonian’s work included everything except the ground works, lower basement and external cladding.
Design commenced on the structure early September 2007 and construction works in the factory began early December. After some discussion regarding the roof system and a late change to our scope, we designed and incorporated the permanent roofing system as part of the factory works.
All bedrooms were completed as part of the factory works and signed off by the Client prior to construction.
By the beginning of March 2008 installation began and despite some bad weather, typical of Aberdeen we completed the 97 module installation four weeks later.
