Joels Inn - Dublin Airport
The 190 bed Joel’s Inn Hotel development in Dublin demonstrates Caledonian’s ability to develop solutions which employ several structural techniques to optimise the speed and cost effectiveness of a building.
This hotel incorporates a two storey, underground concrete car park with an in situ, highly architectural steel framed “core” to the building containing reception, bar, etc. The bedroom “wings” up to 5 storeys, were installed as fully modular units. These bedroom units were delivered to site fully fitted, including completed en-suites, bedroom fit out, fitted furniture etc., thereby reducing the requirement for site labour dramatically and halving the time which would have been incurred if traditional construction were to be used.
Within the in-situ building core a small number of bespoke bedrooms were constructed using bathroom pods also manufactured by Caledonian.
