Marne Barracks - Catterick Garrison, N. Yorkshire

Part of the nationwide construction programme supporting the SLAM (single living accommodation modernisation) project. The buildings at Marne consist of 10, 3-storey buildings, built across a campus style site.
Caledonian prefabricated the entire structure includings flats an open 'atrium' style core area with balcony landings.
The roof structures were fully pre-fabricated and pre-clad, lifted into place onto the assembled modular structure.
The 330 modules (each individual module contains 3 bedrooms) took 25 weeks to construct in one of Caledonian's 3 manufacturing facilities.

Design and Construction Parameters

540 bedroom units in individual flats (6 beds/flat comprising kitchen, utility and common room)
Certified to MoD Prime Contract standards / accreditation
Buildings were handed over 2 months ahead of programme with zero defects.
