Tulip Inn choose Caledonian for first of UK hotels build programme
Whilst groundbreaking work was taking place on the new Tulip Inn Hotel site near Portsmouth Marina, pre-engineered units, complete with utility fixtures and fittings were, to plan, moving off the production line at Caledonian's Carlton, Newark, manufacturing centre.
The fast-track design, engineering and build, provided by Caledonian, was a primary influence in Tulip Inn choosing Caledonian for the first of several hotels to be built at key sites in the UK. The concept of pre-engineered building meant Caledonian was able to dedicate a complete fabrication and assembly line to the Tulip Inn project where build programme is strictly adhered to, undisturbed by poor weather conditions!
In the 6 months since groundwork, the development reached a stage of completion that would have taken a whole year, if undertaken by conventional build techniques.
